Rodman: Bulls still greatest team ever
Nice try Golden State, but the title of greatest team of all time still belongs to Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls.
The Warriors surpassed the 1995-96 Bulls by setting the record for most wins in a single regular season at 73-9.
Article continues after this advertisementBut unlike the Bulls, the Warriors failed to win the NBA championship after becoming the first team to blow a 3-1 Finals lead when it lost to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7.
Dennis Rodman, a key member of that Bulls team, let the basketball world know what he thinks not long after the Warriors’ 93-89 loss at home.
“Congrats @cavs for winning @NBA title. @warriors u had a great regular season. But the greatest team of all time is the 95-96 @chicagobulls,” the NBA Hall of Famer Rodman wrote on his Twitter account.
Article continues after this advertisementRodman won three straight titles with the Bulls, the first of which was when the Bulls beat the Seattle SuperSonics in six games in 1996.
Had the Warriors repeated as champions, they would’ve placed themselves as a legitimate contender to the Bulls’ status as the best team ever.
But instead, the Warriors capped their monumental run with the greatest collapse in NBA history.
