FOUR-TIME champion RC Cola-Army and three underrated squads debut in a double-header Tuesday in the Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference women’s volleyball at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.
Heavy with big names and title experience, the Lady Troopers open their campaign against Amy’s Kitchen, a team made up of college girls from NCAA powerhouse Perpetual.
RC Cola coach Emilio “Kungfu” Reyes sensed the danger of such a lopsided match-up and said they feel the pressure of not just winning but with a wide margin.
“Our biggest asset is experience, but look we have older players as well,” said Reyes.
Fan favorites Rachel Anne Daquis, Jovelyn Gonzaga and Tina Salak will man the fort for RC Cola-Army which, just after rejoining the PSL, already won the Invitationals and the Beach Volley Challenge early this year.
Amy’s Kitchen will be banking on Lourdes Clemente, Coleen Bravo and Cindy Imbo.
Returning team Generika, the 2014 All-Filipino champion, and new squad Standard Insurance-Navy clash in the opening match at 4 p.m.
