LOOK: New NBA champions Cavs get special WWE title belt
The Larry O’Brien trophy will not be the only hardware going Cleveland’s way.
WWE will give the team a special World Heavyweight Championship belt with the Cavaliers’ logo serving as the side plates following their miraculous comeback in the 2016 NBA Finals.
Article continues after this advertisementFinals MVP LeBron James led the spirited comeback for Cleveland to give the city its first champion in any pro sports league for the first time in 52 years.
The Cavaliers battled back from a 1-3 series deficit and racked up three straight wins against the record-setting Golden State Warriors capped by a 93-89 Game 7 triumph Sunday (Monday Manila time). It was also the franchise’s first NBA title.
WWE chief operating officer Triple H tweeted a photo of the belt: “An unprecedented comeback and a long overdue @NBA championship. THAT is something to celebrate. Congrats @cavs!”

James wore an Undertaker shirt after Cleveland fell behind 1-3 in the series last week.
After the Cavs clinched the title, forward Kevin Love sported an Austin 3:16 shirt and even walked around
the locker room with the Smoking Skull belt, in homage to legend Stone Cold Steve Austin.
James also wore an Ultimate Warrior shirt as the team returned to Cleveland to start the city’s celebration.
WWE has had a tradition of handing out customized WWE World Heavyweight Championship replica belts to champions across all major sports in the United States.
