A new era dawns with WWE Draft set for July 19 at the first live SmackDown on the USA Network.

The brand split will finally make its comeback as WWE shakes up its roster with general managers separating the roster to Monday Night Raw and SmackDown.

“This is an exciting new era for WWE in which we will yet again reinvent ourselves by creating a second night of compelling live television,” said WWE Executive Producer Kevin Dunn.

In an earlier statement, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon expressed his excitement for the move.

“WWE’s flagship programs will both leverage the incredible depth of our talent roster, distinct storylines and the unpredictable nature of live TV.”

“This move will undoubtedly build more excitement and deepen engagement with our fans around the world,” he continued.

Call ups from NXT, WWE’s developmental arm, are expected to happen in the following weeks, as well as returns from old superstars, setting the stage for an interesting dynamic with the current lineup of wrestlers in the company.
