New Celtic Jaylen Brown raring to prove worth in Boston
For Jaylen Brown, Boston picking him third in the 2016 NBA Draft just can’t get any better.
“Boston matches my personality. I’m tough and passionate, just like the city, and I can’t wait to get there,” he said through Cisco Telepresence on Friday.

And for Brown, the decision to stick with the selection and pick him speaks a lot of the organization, as he said, “It means a lot for me. I know there’s a lot of rumors (about the picks), but it’s humbling and I’m super excited to be here.”

“Boston is a tough team. They got a lot of wings who can guard multiple positions and versatility is their key, When they play, they play very hard and strong,” said the 19-year-old Pac-12 Freshman of the Year.
“What I want to add to that is the defense and energy. I want to be a person who can be a dynamic wing player and brings some energy to the city just being passionate and being myself. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I’ll proudly represent the city every night.”
Brown is also excited to see action under the guidance of Celtics coach Brad Stevens, as he noted, “I expect him to push me and take us to the promised land.”
However, he knows that patience is the key.
“Everything takes time. Rome wasn’t built in a day and I know they got a lot of legacy and a lot of history here and I can’t wait to add to that,” said Brown. “My work will speak for itself. I’m going to push myself beyond my limits and if I continue that, sky is the limit.” IDL
