UP keeps semis bid going, eliminates NU

In the matchup of the only collegiate teams in the tournament, it was the girls from the State University that triumphed as University of the Philippines took down National University, 25-21, 25-27, 25-13, 25-22, in the Shakey’s V-League Open Conference Saturday at Philsports Arena. 

UP now has a 3-3 record while the Lady Bulldogs dropped to 3-4. 

Laoaog, which has a 3-3 record of its own, needs to win its next game against the Lady Maroons to see which team will enter the Final Four. 

Diana Carlos led UP with 22 points while UAAP Rookie of the Year Isa Molde had 16 points. 

Justine Dorog and Kathy Bersola also finished with double figures with 14 points apiece. 

Jaja Santiago had 19 points to lead NU while Risa Sato and Jorelle Singh had 12 points each.
