New PSC exec

INCOMING Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chair Butch Ramirez has picked a fellow Davaoeño as executive director.

Lawyer Carlo Abarquez has reportedly been tasked to oversee the agency’s day-to-day operations.

Abarquez obtained his bachelor’s degree from La Salle and finished law school in Ateneo. He practiced for eight years at Quisumbing Torres Law Office. 

The former Ateneo junior basketball player will replace Guillermo Iroy.

Ramirez and commissioners Ramon Fernandez, Celia Kiram, Arnold Agustin and Charles Maxey begin their tenure on July 1.
