Generals’ returning veterans thankful for new coach’s confidence
Igee King and Remy Morada, both playing in their last years in the NCAA, were out of Emilio Aguinaldo College in Season 91 and on Season 92 the two are back and couldn’t be any happier.
Morada was left out of the Generals lineup in the middle of the season while King did not appear in a single game due to an injury.
Article continues after this advertisementEAC finished Season 91 with a 2-16 record, tied for worst in the league, and after a bevy of controversies and conflicts King and Morada are back with the team and they have a new coach leading them.
Ariel Sison took over the coaching duties from Andy De Guzman and the new mentor has given all his confidence to his players.
“First of all thankful ako kay God, I never thought I was going to come back after the issues and the injuries, thankful ako kay coach kasi he always believed in me,” said King. “That’s all I needed para ma-gain ko ang confidence ko, the hard work we had this summer had paid off.”
Article continues after this advertisementSison’s confidence in Morada immediately showed when the returning guard unleashed all of his 14 points in the fourth quarter of their 64-57 win over Lyceum of the Philippines University.
“Yung confidence, kumbaga sinabihan lang ako ni coach na ‘gawin mo lang gusto mo,’” said Morada. “Malaki tiwala niya sa akin.”
“Pinagpala din siguro ako ni Lord, nag pray din ako siyempre, kahit nung nasa huddle lang, timeout, ayun na biyayaan naman.”
