Philippine Air Force stunned Pocari Sweat in four sets, 20-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-15 to take the top spot in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Open Conference Monday at Philsports Arena.

Jocemer Tapic starred for the Jet Spikers with 17 points, 12 from kills and five service aces. Joy Cases tallied 17 markers, 15 of which came from hits, while Judy Ann Caballejo had 14 points.

Air Force coach Jasper Jimenez praised the huge boost provided by Cases and setter Wendy Ann Semana.

“Nadala nila yung team tapos nag-contribute lahat,” said Jimenez.

“Although slow start kami, yung game plan namin na kargahan yung service ay nag-prosper.”

Air Force became the first team to beat the Lady Warriors this conference and arranged a best-of-three semifinals duel with Laoag on Wednesday.

The Power Smashers clinched the last semis slot with a win over University of the Philippines earlier and interestingly, they dealt the Jet Spikers their only setback in the elimination round.

Pocari Sweat, meanwhile, takes on Bali Pure in the other semis matchup.

Myla Pablo topscored for No. 2 Pocari Sweat (6-1) with 16 points, while Elaine Kasilag and Michele Gumabao both had 10 in the loss.
