Phoenix shoots for 6th straight D-League victory

FINALLY finding consistency in its play, pacesetter Phoenix shoots for a sixth straight victory when it tangles with Racal today even as Tanduay Rhum targets solo third in the 2016 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Accelerators look to follow up their 126-77 beatdown of Topstar ZC Mindanao last Tuesday in the 4 p.m. collision with the Tile Masters who currently share third spot with Tanduay.

The Rhum Masters are also targeting a fifth win in seven games when they battle the winless Aguilas at 4 p.m.

Coming off a thrilling 105-102 victory over Blustar Detergent on Tuesday, Tanduay coach Lawrence Chongson hopes the Rhum Masters come out strong even against a team that has yet to win in five games so far in the tournament.

“We can’t afford to be overconfident,” said Chongson, whose team is gunning for back-to-back victories.

The Accelerators welcome back Mac Belo into the lineup after a suspension sidelined the Far Eastern U star in their last game against the Aguilas.

Phoenix coach Eric Gonzales is glad to finally see consistency from his squad, which is slowly but surely regaining the form that propelled the Accelerators to the Aspirants Cup title.
