Air Force banks on ‘winning attitude’ to finally dispose of Laoag

Philippine Air Force’s 6-1 record put the Jet Spikers head and shoulders above everyone else in the Shakey’s V-League Open Conference but it’s their attitude that put them in another level against their competitors.

“’Yung mga last point kasi winning attitude na lang, kung gusto mo manalo ibigay mo na,” said outside hitter Judy Caballejo, who finished 15 points in their game 1 win in the semifinals.

Through the Jet Spikers won in three sets, it was anything but easy against the pesky Laoag side, which took them into extension in the final two sets, 25-20, 26-24, 26-24.

After two meetings, it’s easy to say that Laoag is Air Force’s Achilles heel.

But the Jet Spikers finally got to exact revenge on the only team to beat them during the eliminations round.

More than just getting back at their tormentors, head coach Jasper Jimenez said his team is also fueled by the desire to win it all.

“May desire eh, go for the win na kami kasi yun yung gustong mangyari ng team, tiyaka na kami magpapahinga pag champion na,” said Jimenez.

Air Force can secure the finals berth on Saturday in game of 2 of the semis.
