Jiovani Jalalon showed why he is one of the most dominant collegiate players today, anchoring Arellano to a 99-81 victory over San Sebastian in the NCAA Season 92 men’s basketball tournament Friday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Jalalon had a brilliant performance, registering a near triple-double of 31 points, 12 rebounds, eight steals, and three rebounds to pace the Chiefs in their second win so far.

Kent Salado also had 17 markers, six dimes, and five boards, while Dioncee Holts got 16 points and five rebounds.

“Ang cause of concern sa amin is maganda na yung shooting namin pero within striking distance pa rin ang San Sebastian. We settled to Jio and Kent na lang and naging maganda naman ang resulta,” said coach Jerry Codinera.

Lervin Flores also showed his might in the win with a double-double of 10 markers, 13 boards, four assists, and two blocks.

Arellano set the tone for the rout with a 20-6 start before erecting a 20-point edge late in the game, 99-79.

Ryan Costelo topped San Sebastian (1-1) with 15 points and six rebounds, while Alvin Capobres had 14 markers and six boards in the defeat.
