Canada arrives in Manila for Fiba OQT; Nash, Thompson to follow
Canada is the latest team to arrive in the country for next week’s Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
The delegation was led by coach Jay Triano and Toronto Raptors guard Cory Joseph.
NBA legend and Canada Basketball general manager Steve Nash and Cleveland Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson were not with the squad, but will arrive to the country in time for the OQT.
Team Canada was aboard Turkish Airlines flight TK084 and arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 at 6:40 p.m. from Istanbul.
They were supposed to be in the same flight as the Senegal national team but the latter opted to re-book its flight for Saturday.
Canada is in Group A of the Manila OQT, where they will clash against Turkey and Senegal in the group stages.
