Navy snaps PSL skid at two, sends Amy’s to 4th straight loss

Standard Insurance Navy snapped its losing streak in the Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference as it took down Amy’s in four sets, 25-21, 26-28, 25-23, 25-20, on Sunday at San Juan Arena.

As the Corvettes tack on a 1-2 record in the standings, the same cannot be said as the Spikers fell to its fourth straight loss for a 4-0 slate.

It wasn’t a cruise for the Corvettes, however, as head coach Zenaida Chavez pointed out.

“Okay naman yung chemistry pero andun pa rin tayo na nagka kanya kanya, nag-uusap naman pero sa sobrang eagerness, individually nawawala sila (The chemistry was okay, however, they are acting on their own, the communication is there but due to much eagerness, they lost [control] individually),” said Chavez.

Divine Eguia had her hand in finishing off the Spikers with a down-the-line attack.

Hezzymie Acuña led Standard Insurance Navy with 17 points while Pau Soriano and Eguia added 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Cindy Imbo had 17 points to lead Amy’s while Maribeth Lara and Lourdes Clemente had 14 and 13 points, respectively, in support of their captain. RAM
