Bali Pure failed to take Game 2 of the Shakey’s V-League semifinals against rival Pocari Sweat last Saturday at San Juan Arena, and the Water Defenders’ did not make any excuses for the loss.

“This time around, it was really our errors, even mental errors, during the fifth set,” said Soriano, admitting that Pocari was the team who wanted the win more.
Looking at the positive side, Soriano centered her attention on going back to the basics. “We were getting touches but we weren’t controlling the ball as much,” she said.

“We’re gonna adjust as a team, we’re gonna look and think positive for Monday’s game,” said Valdez, with a smile on her face.
The three-time UAAP MVP admitted to not being able to think quickly while on the court, lessening her chances of scoring.
Despite falling behind Pocari, Valdez and Soriano chose to keep their heads up and focus on how to better themselves for game three of the semifinals.
“I really believe in the team. I know they can do it,” said Soriano.
“I’m just really happy, I’m just really glad na naglaro ako for Shakey’s V League and to be teammates with them. I’m going to contribute as much as I can,” said Valdez. Mikaela Calilong/Philippine Daily Inquirer trainee
