Stanley Pringle played the role of the hero, scoring the game-winning layup to lift GlobalPort to a pulsating 97-96 victory over Ginebra in an exhibition match Thursday at CCF Gym in Pasig.
The former Rookie of the Year drove straight to the basket for the game-winner with 1.5 seconds to spare, completing the Batang Pier’s comeback from 20-points down in the second quarter.
Globalport even trailed by six markers in the final minute.
Pringle led the Batang Pier with 27 points, while Dominique Sutton had 21 markers in the victory.
Joe Devance paced Ginebra in the defeat with 19 points.
Gin Kings reinforcement Paul Harris finished with 17 points, but missed on a chance to snatch the victory after missing the a trey against three defenders at the buzzer. Miguel de Leon/ Philippine Daily Inquirer trainee
