Tasked to help San Miguel defending the Commissioner’s Cup, AZ Reid is unfazed with another round of Asian imports spicing the season-ending conference anew.

“I got Asian imports here,” he said, pointing at the locals as the Beermen wrapped up their afternoon practice at Moro Lorenzo Sports Center in Ateneo.

Reid believes that San Miguel has all it needs to make another run for the championship.

“Let me ask you what country we’re in? The Philippines. What are you all? Asians. I don’t need extra Asians. We got them,” he said. “I got a lot of Asian imports on my team. We got players in the bench everyday and we’ll play them, give them opportunities.”

“I got Gary (David), I got Ryan (Arana), I got Bitoy (Omolon, I got (Ronald) Tubid, and so on. I got Asian
imports here.”

While Reid knows that other teams enlisting continental reinforcements pose as a bigger challenge to San Miguel, he’s confident that Beermen’s talent can carry them to a title repeat.

“I don’t make any excuse for me. Leave me with what we have. We’re fine. We got to make a way to win. We can’t panic, get nervous, get scared,” said Reid.

“It’s going to be hard for them, but we got to make a way.”
