Marqus Blakely is no stranger to the PBA, having played in the league on five occasions.

He’s also a loyal camper with the Star Hotshots the only team he’s played with in the PBA.

And even though the Purefoods franchise had undergone several name changes  from B-Meg Llamados to San Mig Coffee Mixers to the now Star Hotshots, it’s still home to the same brothers Blakely loved.

“As a team, we’re all like good brothers. We come in, we have a lot of fun around each other,” said Blakely, who won two titles with the team. “Practice is fun, so it’s easy to come back.”

The 27-year-old Blakely will be playing in his sixth conference come the 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup.

Blakely was in the forefront for Star Saturday when the Hotshots downed NLEX, 81-75, in a tune-up game at Ronac Art Center in San Juan.

The high-flying Blakely had 18 points and looked like someone who hadn’t left the team for almost a year.

“It’s pretty good. We’re able to get back into the swing of things as quick as possible,” said Blakely of the team’s chemistry. Mikaela Calilong/Philippine Daily Inquirer trainee
