Alaska sends Baguio to Phoenix for 2nd round picks
Alaska pulled off a shocker days before the opening of the 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup, sending Cyrus Baguio to Phoenix.
The Aces sent the 35-year-old guard to the Fuel Masters in exchange of a pair of second round picks.

Along with Baguio, Alaska sent its 2017 second rounder to Phoenix.
The Aces received a 2017 second round pick, whichever is higher among the Star, San Miguel and Alaska picks which Phoenix owns, and a 2018 second rounder, whichever is the second highest from the selections of Ginebra, Phoenix, San Miguel and Meralco after NLEX gets the highest pick.
Article continues after this advertisementThe 13-year-veteran will be joining his fifth team in his career after seeing action for Red Bull, Air21, Ginebra, and Alaska.
The former UST standout averaged 7.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 23 minutes of action last conference in Alaska’s runner up finish in the 2016 Commissioner’s Cup.
It also ends a six-year partnership between Alaska and Baguio, the 2008 Most Improved Player, who helped the franchise capture the 2010 Fiesta and 2013 Commissioner’s Cup titles.
