After two successive losses, the Philippines tacked on the victory column and swept host Singapore, 26-24, 25-13, 25-23, in the Asean University Games volleyball tournament Thursday at National University of Singapore Sports and Recreation Hall 5.
Ateneo, the two-time champions in the UAAP, are the Philippine representatives for the regional games.
Alyssa Valdez, the three-time UAAP MVP, scored the Philippines’ final four-points in the third set.
Defending champions Thailand and Indonesia are both undefeated and will face each other for the gold medal match.
The Philippines and Singapore will jostle for the bronze medal on Saturday noon.
