PH aquathlon stakes youth pool berths

AN INVITE to the national youth pool awaits fresh talents as they vie in the 1st Philippine Aquathlon Championships on Sept. 11 at Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

Top performers in the youth and junior divisions of the run-swim-run event may be invited to the national youth pool that will be vying for slots in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.

The event features the 2.5K run-1K swim-2.5 K run standard distance and the 1K run-600m swim-1K run sprint distance that will fire off at Camayan Beach Resort and head to the Ilanin Forest Reserve.

Other divisions include the open age-group competition, the age-group para-aquathlon and the national championship for high school and college bets.

Early bird entry fees are set at P1,000 (youth), P1,500 (junior and individual age-group) and P2,500 (two-man relay) until July 31.

Fees include a timing chip, swim cap, event shirt, finisher’s medal and post-race meal. Registration runs until Aug. 31.
