Pocari, Air Force go at it one last time

THE CHAMPIONSHIP series many billed as unpredictable turned out to be just that as Pocari Sweat and Philippine Air Force clash in a sudden-death championship in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Open Conference tonight.

“We must go hard,” said Pocari’s Game 2 hero Myla Pablo. “We know we can do it.”

The Pocari Lady Warriors and the PAF Jet Spikers, both vying for their first crown, battle at 6 p.m. at Philsports Arena.

Believing momentum shifted on their side, the Lady Warriors look to close it out with Pablo, Michele Gumabao and Elaine Kasilag.

“Composure is the key,” said Pocari coach Rommel Abella after the Lady Warriors forged a do-or-die duel with a 17-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-20 triumph over the Jet Spikers last Saturday.

The Jet Spikers admit to blowing the huge chance of a series sweep.

“We didn’t show the character [that we showed in Game 1],” said coach Jasper Jimenez, whose Jet Spikers rallied to a 17-25, 25-20, 15-25, 26-24, 15-11 victory in last Wednesday’s opener.
