Despite falling for the third straight game, GlobalPort’s star guard Terrence Romeo believes that the team is bound for a breakthrough win sooner than later.

And the source of his optimism comes from none other than the Batang Pier’s new import Mike Glover.

“Para sa akin, mas nakatulong yung pagpalit ng import namin kasi marami syang ginagawa sa loob ng court,” he said.

Glover replaced first choice reinforcement Dominique Sutton, who got an invite from the Cleveland Cavaliers to workout, and it didn’t take long for the 28-year-old big man to make his presence felt.

He finished with 27 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and a block in GlobalPort’s close 105-102 overtime defeat to Star on Sunday.

“Dumedepensa sya. Pag pinasahan mo sa poste, alam nya yung gagawin nya. Alam nya kaming hanapin, yung mga guards. Sobrang beterano nya na import, so malaking tulong sya para sa amin,” Romeo said of Glover.

Glover sure is a big boost for the Batang Pier, as Romeo admits that he’s now feeling the fatigue after his stint with the national team.

“Kaka-recover ko lang nung nagkasakit ako, so two days lang ako nag-practice,” he bared.

And he delivered, pouring 27 points, six rebounds, and six assists in that heartbreaker against the Hotshots.

Romeo admitted he still wonders what holds back GlobalPort. But rather than dwelling on the negatives, he just enjoined his teammates to focus on the Batang Pier’s next games to finally nail that elusive victory.

Dapat yun ang gawin namin sa practice,” he said.
