Superal super, bags Pac-Northwest title
PRINCESS Superal overwhelmed low medalist Nami Ko of British Columbia, 6 and 5, in the 36-hole title match on Saturday to clinch the Pacific Northwest Women’s Amateur Championship in Cle Elum, Washington.
Settling for second seeding in the stroke-play phase on rounds of 77-73, Superal raised her game in the match plays on the way to lopsided wins.
She eased out Washington’s Jalayne Martirez, 2-up, routed Kristin Strankman, 7 and 5, in the second round, saw off Marianne Li, 7 and 6, in the quarterfinals and then bested TCC teammate Sam Martirez, 7 and 5.
