EXPECT a picturesque but punishing route when the Aboitiz TRI2016 gets going at Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club at Hamilo Coast in Nasugbu, Batangas, on Sept. 3.
The popular weekend destination will transform into a race course-with-a-view featuring the Olympic triathlon distance of 1.5K swim-40K bike-10K run.
The swim leg fires off at 2 p.m. before racers try to conquer the hilly terrain on bike.
A steep hill heading to the highest point of the cove, three loops along Nasugbu-Ternate Highway and a scenic route along Hamilo Coast marina highlight the bike course.
The run leg will take racers to a steep descent to the resort for three loops around the lagoon.
