Terso, Paniamogan lead Racal past skidding Phoenix

Joseph Terso and Philip Paniamogan put Racal on their backs down the stretch to eke out a 90-88 thriller over Phoenix in the 2016 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Tuesday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Terso and Paniamogan accounted for 11 of the Tile Masters’ last 13 points in the final two minutes and 25 seconds with the former Jose Rizal University star capping his team’s comeback win with the game-winning triple with 3.1 seconds left.

Terso hit two clutch treys his second giving Racal an 87-85 edge with 1:02 remaining before Phoenix’s Ed Daquioag buried his own 3-pointer that put the Accelerators in front, 88-87, with 11.9 ticks left.

The Tile Masters moved into solo first place with an 8-2 record while the Accelerators reeled to their second straight setback and fell to 7-3.

Dexter Maiquez led Racal with 19 points while Paniamogan and Terso had 13 and nine points respectively.

Roger Pogoy scored a game-high 22 points while Mac Belo added 20 for Phoenix, which blew an 81-73 lead with only 5:16 to go in the game.
