THE PHILIPPINE Olympic Committee is on the same page with the Philippine Sports Commission on grassroots development.

POC president Jose Cojuangco Jr. is confident the Philippine Sports Institute being established by PSC Chair William Ramirez can produce world-class athletes.

Cojuangco also believes the PSI, first hatched during the term of former Chair and now athletics chief Philip Ella Juico, can be effectively implemented with several sports facilities already available across the country.

The PSI, a school for talented young athletes to be identified by the PSC, will be patterned after the Australian Institute of Sport.
