Mika Reyes gets 7th golden ticket

Mika Reyes, F2 Logistics’ 6-foot middle blocker, received the 7th and last “Golden Ticket” to the Philippine team competing in the FIVB (international volleyball federation) Women’s Club World Championships.

The 22-year-old Reyes, who was part of the reigning UAAP champion La Salle, completed the Filipino crew that will clash with the world’s best clubs in the Oct. 18-23 meet slated at Mall of Asia Arena.

Reyes refused to be interviewed about the her chances in the team until after she was awarded by Philippine Superliga president Ramon “Tats” Suzara, chair Philip Ella Juico and technical staff chief Sammy Acaylar.

She said the chance to play for the Philippines in the game’s biggest stage will be the highlight of her career.

She thus joined fellow Cargo Mover Kim Fajardo, Jovelyn Gonzaga and Rachel Anne Daquis of RC Cola-Army, Jen Reyes and Ces Molina of Petron and Jaja Santiago of Foton.

They will be joined in by seven other foreign players slated to be named in the next few weeks. TVJ
