JACOB Ang, Jarred Kim and Khazart Romoff will seek second victories in the Philippine leg of the 2016 Petron Tri-Activ Asian Karting Open Championships today at Carmona Racetrack in Cavite.

Ang of Eagle Cement will go for victories in the X30 and Formula 125 Open Senior classes anew, Kim is eyeing another Mini-ROK plum and Romoff is setting his sights on the Formula SQ Cadet crown.

Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) motorsports committee chair Jose Armando “Mandy” L. Eduque will be the guest of honor during Sunday’s opening rites.

The Golden Wheel Hall of Fame member will deliver the keynote address and will be joined by AKOC chair Johnny Tan and AAP steward Jun Espino in the ceremony.

Ang will be part of the 14-man field that include Zhang Haopeng and Yuxin Wu of China’s Mars Racing Team, Kent Tsui of Hongkong, Jerry Choi of AUTS Racing, Kilton Racing’s Rainer Te, and Praga Racing’s Carl Wilhelm and Jerick Holganza.

Empire-Red Bull Racing team top gun Kim hopes for a repeat of his sweep of the Pre-Final and Final races in the Macau kickoff last June while teammate Romoff will vie in the Formula SQ Cadet class.
