Carter-Williams to visit PH in August for NBA 3x

Former NBA rookie of the year Michael Carter-Williams is scheduled to pay Manila a visit this August for the return of the NBA 3x Philippines.

The point guard from the Milwaukee Bucks, who won the top rookie award in the 2013-2014 season, will headline the annual 3-on-3 tournament featuring 200 men’s and women’s teams from all over the country on August 19-21 at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.

“I’m excited to visit the Philippines and experience Filipino fans’ passion for basketball during the NBA 3X,” said Carter-Williams. “Being a part of this event is a great opportunity to see the growth of the game internationally, and I look forward to working with these talented athletes.”

The competitive 3-on-3 tournament includes divisions for boys (under-13, under-16, under-18, and open category), girls (under-16 and open category) and an invitation only Celebrity Division featuring local personalities.

Registration for NBA 3X Philippines 2016 begins July 29 until August 14 or until slots are filled up. Interested parties may visit www.nba3x.com/philippines for details.

Last year, Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried and Spurs guard Danny Green added thrill to the tournament which is now on its sixth year.
