They may be on opposing sides, but Rain or Shine forward Gabe Norwood sees positive things for Blackwater’s Asian import Imad Qahwash.
“It’s nice to come out with the win, I think he’s still adjusting, he’s a solid player, I think he’s going to help Blackwater a lot,” said Norwood after the Elasto Painters fended off the Elite 98-92 at Ynares Center-Antipolo Friday.
Norwood and Qahwash, tough, are not strangers to each other.
It was Qahwash’s Palestine who dealt an opening game loss to Norwood’s Philippines in the Fiba Asia Championship.
Qahwash, however, did not experience the same fate in his debut in the PBA as he went scoreless in 14 minutes and registered four rebounds and three assists.
“We had guys coming at him and make him work, he had a tough night.”
Qahwash was 0-of-4 from the field and never got to the charity stripe.
