Newly-acquired Star forward Keith Jensen announced he will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 PBA Season due to family matters.
In a video posted on his Instagram account, Jensen revealed the reason for his absence during the Hotshots first three games in the Governors’ Cup and why he won’t be able to suit up for his new team.
“This message is for Star organization and for my fans. I wanna explain why I haven’t been around for the first few games and why I will not be able to play the rest of the conference. Due to personal circumstances, right now, need to be in San Diego right now to ensure the well being of my family,” Jensen said.
The 28-year-old Jensen was part of the three-team, eight-player deal that also sent RR Garcia to the Hotshots last May.
“It’s tough to walk away right now. I really enjoyed everybody in the organization, and I believe on what we could accomplish, but I also believe that it’s family first.”
Jensen also thanked every other PBA team he had been a part of.
The 6-foot-4 Jensen was selected by Barangay Ginebra as the eighth overall pick in the 2012 PBA Rookie Draft. He played a season each for Ginebra and Barako Bull before being traded again to GlobalPort where he spent his next three years.
He averaged 6.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and a steal in 28 games for the Batang Pier this season.
