Foton denies Petron, secures second seed in PSL
Foton zoomed past a grounded Petron, 25-23, 25-18, 25-18, to take a hold of the second seed in the Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference Saturday at San Juan Arena.
It was an unfortunate ending for the Tri-Activ Spikers when Mina Aganon’s service error became the Tornadoes’ final point.

Tornadoes head coach Vilet Ponce-De Leon was relieved her team is peaking just in time for the playoffs.
“Thankful kami kasi we’re peaking at the right time and yun talaga yung target namin,” said Ponce-De Leon.

“Ngayon ang ganda ng morale ng mga bata, even the players yung development nila, progression nila, sinasabi ko na how they’re peaking at the right time. Ang gandang pang boost ng confidence papuntang semifinals.”
EJ Laure caught fire for the Tornadoes as she finished with 17 points while Cherry Rondina and Jaja Santiago added 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Aiza Maizo-Pontillas led Petron with eight points.
Foton clamped down on Petron only allowing the Tri-Activ Spikers only 27 points off spikes while the Tornadoes converted 43.
