Tagum, mall ready to host SEAG events
THE PHILIPPINE Sports Commission (PSC) has identified the possible venues for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in Davao along with some of the sports to be played.
Commissioner Charles Maxey said the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex in Tagum City can accommodate football, swimming and even track and field—with the addition of a warm-up track and a few improvements on existing facilities.
Maxey said the only major obstacle that the PSC inspection team saw was the lack of hotels in Tagum, host of the 2015 Palarong Pambansa and a 45-minute drive from Davao City.

Davao del Norte Gov. Anthony Del Rosario has committed to host eight sports in Tagum.
SM Lanang can host combat sports boxing, judo, taekwondo, pencak silat, muay, wrestling, wushu and karatedo while beach volleyball can be held in Samal Island, some 45 minutes away by boat from the city.
