Emilio Aguinaldo College showed up with its artillery and outgunned College of St. Benilde, 76-56, in the NCAA Season 92 Men’s Basketball Tournament Thursday at San Juan Arena.

CSB’s woeful start extended to 0-9 while the Generals improved to 3-6, a better mark than the previous season when they only won two games against 16 losses.

EAC went off hot converting 10-of-27 three-pointers while holding down CSB to 2-of-17 from distance.

Generals head coach Ariel Sison credited his team’s defense on Carlo Young and Christian Fajarito that sparked their ensuing offense.

“Isa lang naman ang pinilit naming ma-stop, si Young,” said Sison who took over the Generals at the start of the season. “Si Young, we were leading 9-2 in the first quarter and siya naghabol, we concentrated on him on defense, and Fajarito kasi he has a good touch sa elbows.”

Young had 14 points, a team-high for the Blazers, but he had a poor 6-of-18 shooting clip while Fajarito had 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting.

Sidney Onwubere had a game-high 16 points to go along seven boards and five assists to lead the Generals while Hamadou Laminou also finished in double-digit scoring with 14 points, eight rebounds, and five blocks.
