UST off 2-0 start in V-League after tripping St. Benilde

University of Santo Tomas bombarded defending NCAA volleyball champions College of St. Benilde, 25-20, 25-17, 25-27, 25-17, in the Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference Saturday at Philsports Arena.

High schooler Eya Laure was once again magnificent for the Golden Tigresses as she followed up her 17-point performance on Wednesday with an 18-point night to lead UST to a 2-0 record.

Cherry Rondina, who missed their opener against San Beda, had 15 points for the Golden Tigresses.

Guest player Janine Navarro led the Lady Blazers with 14 points.

Eya’s older sister EJ had 10 points on her own for UST.

UST commanded the offensive unleashing 51 scoring spikes to the defense of CSB while also scoring 14 service aces.
