Global dumps Forza, tightens grip of second
GLOBAL solidified its hold of top spot with a 12-0 drubbing of Forza, even as JP Voltes bounced back from its second loss of the season in style last Wednesday in the United Football League at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Captain Misagh Bahadoran scored four goals, while Pika Minegishi and Omid Nazari added three goals each as Global posted its 11th win of the campaign, increasing the reigning UFL Cup champions’ tally to 34 points.
Matthew Hartmann atoned for a penalty miss early on with a precise finish in the 47th minute, while Andy Esswein was also on the scoresheet for a Global side that also widened its lead on second-running Ceres-La Salle to six points.
