Jose Rizal U once again showed why it has been a home of some of the country’s best shooters as Team Heavy Bombers ruled the Shooting Stars contest in the NCAA All-Star Friday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The trio of Marvin Hayes, Darius Estrella and Cadell Buno topped the elimination phase with 43.4 seconds and continued that in the Finals, besting Perpetual with 27.8 seconds after Buno drained the half-court shot.

“Si sir Paul (Supan) na ang talagang sabi na ako na ang bahala at ako ang mag-lead sa kanila dahil ako ang matanda,” said Hayes, who last the Heavy Bombers in 2010.

JRU easily dispatched the Altas, bannered by Flash Sadiwa, Gelo Razon, and Dom Javier who posted a time of 1:07.6.

“Sabi ko lang sa mga kasama ko, no pressure dahil All-Star naman ito. Let’s enjoy lang yung moment. Matalo tayo, OK lang, pero kung manalo, mas masaya,” Hayes also said.
