Foton lives to play another day as it upended F2 Logistics, 18-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-18, in the second finals game of the Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference Saturday at San Juan Arena.
Aby Maraño had the unfortunate luck of hitting the ball too long and sending it out of bounds, giving the Tornadoes a crack at the crown.
F2 tried to challenge for a check ball but the replays showed no Tornado touched Maraño’s attack as the series goes to a third and final match on Wednesday at the same venue.
Tornadoes head coach Vilet Ponce-De Leon said she had already drawn up their next play just in case the Cargo Movers’ plea was heard.
“Nung last point meron na kaming nagawang play after nun, at ise-set na lang namin yung play,” said Ponce De Leon, whose team had to wait for a good two minutes before the official verdict. “Dapat gagawin na namin kasi kami yung aatake and as it turned out di naman nag-work.”
Jaja Santiago stood tall for Foton tallying 19 points while Cherry Rondina did her work from the outside racking up 15 points.
Maika Ortiz and Patty Orendain also finished in double figures for the Tornadoes as they had 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Ara Galang had 16 points to lead the Cargo Movers.
