On the brink of elimination, Ateneo found a way to survive as it swept Perpetual Help, 27-25, 25-13, 25-16 Monday in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Collegiate Conference at Philsports Arena in Pasig.
Bea de Leon unleashed 12 points, while Ana Gopico added 11 as the Lady Eagles notched their first win in three outings.
“We’ve been working really hard during trainings and siguro today we really communicated better on the court,” said Ateneo team captain Michelle Morente.
The Lady Eagles improved to 1-2, while also eliminating the winless Lady Altas (0-3) in Group A.
Ateneo can still advance to the semifinals with a win against the undefeated NU on Saturday.
Ma. Lourdes Clemente topped Perpetual with eight points, while Cindy Imbo had seven.
