Jalalon hits head, still delivers brilliant numbers for Chiefs

Like most days, there was no stopping Jio Jalalon from leading Arellano University to another win.

Not even the painful feeling of the back of his head whiplashing against the hardwood kept him from returning to the game after momentarily getting treatment along the arena’s hallway.

Jalalon gingerly walked off the floor with the assistance of a physician at the 1:41 mark of the third quarter, where he just exploded for 14 points.

He returned with 8:21 left in the game to put the finishing touches to another incredible yet customary performance to his standards.

“Pag-steal and layup ko na-off balance ako kasi naapakan paa ko,” Jalalon said, recalling the play after an 89-84 win over San Sebastian on Tuesday.

“Sobrang sakit. Buong ulo ko masakit pero di ko na inisip, inisip ko na lang laro kasi nagahahabol din kami ng panalo,” added Jalalon after powering Arellano to its fifth consecutive victory.

The 23-year-old point guard, inarguably one of the best collegiate players today, said he’s still feeling some pain in his head.

“May masakit pa rin ng konti pero okay naman.”

Jalalon dealt the Stags a bad case of headache too with 33 points and 10 assists.
