MANILA, Philippines—Adamson Lady Falcons clinched the last semifinal berth after showcasing a defensive clinic over Lyceum Lady Pirates, 20-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-18 in the Shakey’s V-League Season 8 First Conference Tuesday at the Arena in San Juan.
Nene Bautista proved to be too much for the Lady Pirates as she dominated with 29 points, 26 of which were attacks.
“I just told them to play, our floor defense was great, that’s what we really practice,” said Adamson coach Dulce Pante.
In the opener, University of St. La Salle Lady Stingers continued its stellar play as it turned back wavering Far Eastern University Lady Tamarraws, 19-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-10.
Already in the semis, the Lady Stingers pounced on the poor reception by the Lady Tams led by peppery spiker Patty Orendain who fired 17 points.
The semifinal round will start on Thursday (May 5) with USLS taking on Adamson at the 2pm game as National University clashes with Ateneo in the second match.
