June Mar Fajardo did not let sickness get in the way of dominance.
During Friday’s game against Globalport, the two-time MVP played through a flu and produced a 21-point, 14-rebound double-double.
All his efforts, though, came all for naught as the Beermen lost, 98-92, in an upset at Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
Fajardo said his flu was taking a toll on him during the game, where he played more than 41 minutes.
“Grabe sipon ko tapos sakit ng ulo ko,” said Fajardo who contacted the flu a day before their game.
San Miguel is now at 4-2, good for a triple tie with Ginebra and Mahindra for the second seed behind TNT, after starting the Governors’ Cup at 2-0.
But Fajardo did not make it an excuses for the loss despite being hampered by the flu.
“Dami naming errors lalo na ako, tapos grabe pa yung first quarter namin tambak kami,” said Fajardo whose team fell behind 23-8 in the first quarter.
“Dami naming open shots na hindi namin naipasok, bawi na lang next game.”
