EGS Elite continued its domination in the half-court, notching its fourth straight title in the men’s open of the NBA 3X Philippines 2016 Sunday at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.

Taking advantage of its height in the Finals, the squad comprised of Rocky Acidre, Mark Doligon, Rutger Acidre, and new recruit Ian Garrido toyed with Ako Two Team before coming away with the 13-8 victory.

“Nag-focus talaga kami sa inside attack kaya karamihan ng shots namin, sa loob,” said Rocky Acidre, who was present in all four of EGS Elite’s reign.

Though coming away with the title for the fourth straight year, Acidre shared that the field is getting tougher year after year.

“Nag-iimprove din lahat ng teams at lahat naman competitive kaya talagang masaya kami kasi di rin biro yung four straight namin,” he said.

Milwaukee Bucks guard Michael Carter-Williams, Los Angeles Clippers mascot Chuck the Condor, and the Minnesota Timberwolves dancers were on hand to award the winners to end the three-day event.

Meanwhile, NU-A lorded the competition in the women’s open with a 10-5 win over Admirals.

Afril Bernardino, Jack Animam, Gemma Miranda, and Ria Nabalan cruised through the field and came away with the hardware.

Keanzel Trading also bested Team Caloocan to rule the men’s under-13 division.

Team Jacob Liit took home the trophy in the men’s under-16 division against HIMC5.

Also, Balon Dagupan snared the women’s under-16 division after a default victory over Caloocan.
