NLEX asks for privacy for Cardona after pill overdose

NLEX urged the public to let Mac Cardona have his privacy after the veteran swingman reportedly overdosed on pills Sunday.

The 34-year-old Cardona was rushed to the University of Perpetual Help Hospital in Las Piñas, his sister Rowena told ABS-CBN news.

In a statement, NLEX team manager Ronald Dulatre also said the team will provide assistance to Cardona.

“We urge the public to allow Macmac and his family to have privacy at this difficult time,” the statement read.

“Macmac is part of the NLEX Road Warriors team. We are providing whatever assistance he needs from us during this time.”

The apparent suicide attempt was just the latest of Cardona’s misfortunes. The former La Salle star’s partner Bianca Jackes had also filed a domestic violence complaint that led to his arrest.
