The Prizefighter finally got the company’s biggest prize.
Kevin Owens came away with the WWE Universal Championship in shocking fashion Monday (Tuesday Manila time) on Raw in Houston.
The brash Canadian benefitted from the interference of Triple H as the company’s chief operating officer interjected himself in the fatal-4-way elimination match in the main event.
Owens earlier eliminated Big Cass after a Bullfrog Splash, before Triple H made a surprise appearance and blindsided Roman Reigns, nailing him with a Pedigree at ringside and allowing Seth Rollins to take out The Big Dog.
But when it seemed like Triple H will once again lend a helping hand on Rollins, he turned on his cohort and hit him with a Pedigree, giving Owens a chance to score the three-count on The Architect.
After the match, Triple H shook Owens’ hand and raised his arms in victory as he took the belt away from Raw general manager Mick Foley and commissioner Stephanie McMahon.
Owens became just the second man to hold the belt after Finn Balor.
The Irish relinquished his freshly won title at SummerSlam last week due to a shoulder injury.
Owens is part of the roster which will go to the country for WWE Live Manila on September 9 at Mall of Asia Arena.
