Globalport sends Pascual to Blackwater for Cortez

Globalport added another stable presence to its high-octane backcourt when it acquired veteran Mike Cortez from Blackwater.

In exchange of the 13-year veteran, the Batang Pier shipped rarely-used shooter Ronald Pascual.

Cortez joins Joseph Yeo in the guard rotation of the Batang Pier as young guns Stanley Pringle and Terrence Romeo lead the pack for the green-and-black.

Pascual was part of the vaunted Pinatubo Trio of San Sebastian with Calvin Abueva and Ian Sangalan that mesmerized the NCAA with their mixture of brute strength, smooth inside presence, and sweet shooting.

Pascual, however, failed to duplicate his collegiate exploits and was often relegated to garbage time duty in the PBA.
