Manny Pacquiao has welcomed the news that compatriot Nonito Donaire will be in the under card of his return fight in Las Vegas this November.
“Maganda yun, dahil maraming Pilipino,” said Pacquiao Thursday at Century Park Hotel. “Napakasaya nun kung madagdagan pa mga Pilipino.”
This will be the first time Donaire, the reigning WBO World super bantamweight champion, will be in the same card as Pacquiao.
Pacquiao, meanwhile, is returning to the boxing ring after announcing his retirement back in May when he beat Timothy Bradley.
Boxing’s only eight-division World champion will face WBO World welterweight champion Jessie Vargas in at Thomas & Mack Center.
Donaire is set to defend his title but an opponent is yet to be named.
“Mas okay maraming Pilipino,” said Pacquiao. “Hindi ako ibang tao na maiinggit o may grievance, gusto ko nga lahat tayo sama sama tayo.”
Donaire hit the pinnacle of his career when he was voted as Fighter of the Year in 2012 and in 2011 he reached the third spot in Ring’s pound-for-pound rankings.
