Thailand’s head coach has singled out three teams as the powers to beat in the Asian Volleyball Confederation Asian Women’s Club Championship that starts Saturday.

And of those three, the Philippines is included.

“I think the team to beat is China, Japan, and Philippines,” said Bangkok Glass head coach Kittipong Pornchartyingcheep in the press conference Friday at Crimson Hotel Filinvest City Manila.

“Every team is very good.”

Pornchartyingcheep led the Glass Rabbits to the 2015 championship in Vietnam and is now spearheading the team in the Philippines to defend the title.

Despite being the favorite to win it all, Pornchartyingcheep does not take the competition lightly.

“This will be very difficult, I think the competition is very good.”
