‘Non-stop dancing, moving, yelling’: Rondina energizes Foton Pilipinas
If there’s someone who’s the personification of attitude, blissfulness, and unbound energy, it has to be Cherry Rondina.
In the two years Rondina, dubbed as “Cherry Bomb,” played volleyball in the UAAP and a few months in the Philippine Super Liga, she has become the image of an object about to be launched into orbit.

Lindsay Stalzer, the calm and collected import of Foton, said their little Sisi, the nickname of Rondina, is their 5-foot-4 bundle of joy.
“Sisi is crazy!” said Stalzer Thursday on SportsIQ, Inquirer’s omni-platform radio show. “She’s non-stop, dancing, moving, yelling.”

Stalzer’s fellow import Ariel Usher, who herself is also an energetic lass, admitted Rondina’s enthusiasm in just about everything is remarkable.
Usher said Rondina can endure a lengthy international flight and still shout and jump around.
“When we travelled to Thailand, we had to fly to Bangkok and take another flight, then the bus, there’s a lot of traveling, and we were sleeping on the bus and when we got to the hotel Sisi was like ‘yah! Yah! Yah!'” exclaimed Usher as she mimicked Rondina’s dancing. “Everyone was ‘Sisi stop, Sisi be quiet it’s bed time.'”
“Everyone is funny in their own way and Sisi is the loudest.”
Even “Ms. Beast Mode” Aby Maraño knows Rondina can match up, and even exceed, her energy levels.
Maraño has made a name for herself with her take-no-prisoners-attitude while Rondina is just a little too joyful.
“After every point ‘pak ganern! gusto ko mga ganyang palo, Beast Mode.’ Parang dalawa kaming nag-Beast Mode sa loob pero we’re making fun of it para hindi tight teammates namin and ma-boost morale ng mga kasama,” said Maraño.
